Overview
In May 2023, following the Innovation and Targeted Oil and Gas (‘INTOG’) leasing round run by Crown Estate Scotland, ESB was awarded exclusive rights to develop Malin Sea Wind, an ‘Innovation’ project, that will deliver 100MW of floating offshore wind capacity in Scottish waters.
The project located between Islay and the north coast of Northern Ireland, aims to support cost reduction in the floating wind sector through the utilisation of innovative technologies and alternative routes to market.
